Health & Safety Advisor

Job Description

You will join us as a Health & Safety Advisor. Working within the SHE Department, answering directly to the H&S Manager, the main purpose of this role is to provide professional advice and support in relation to Occupational Safety and Health and Environmental Management, for activities within William Hare Limited (WHL) at the facility in Risca, Wales.Health & Safety Advisor Responsibilities:- Support allocated operational structures in delivering SHE excellence by ensuring a process approach is developed and maintained in line with the requirements of the WHL Management Systems whilst ensuring continuous improvement and business resilience across the areas they have responsibility for.- Ensure that a holistic approach is taken towards HS&E matters including manufacturing and construction work activities through close liaison with the factory and construction teams.- Ensure that the requirements of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 are delivered throughout their area of responsibility.- Ensure that incidents and near hits are effectively managed, reported, investigated and are made subject to root cause analysis in line with company procedures throughout their area of responsibility.- Be a key participant in the SHE Support Team by participating in the development of the management system and participate in projects to improve the level of its effectiveness.- Build and develop effective, collaborative working relationships with the operational leadership and managements teams in order to positively influence their SHE capabilities.- Work with the operational leadership and management teams to improve our safety culture, and to develop a motivational and rewarding working environment that will facilitate the achievement of business objectives and company values.Health & Safety Advisor Requirements:- NEBOSH General and/or NEBOSH Construction. Equivalent Health and Safety Qualification with a minimum of Grad IOSH membership.- Knowledge of CDM.- Environmental qualification (desirable)- IEMA Membership (desirable).- Hold a recognised incident investigator qualification (Preferred).- Hold a recognised internal auditor qualification.- Demonstrable experience of the maintenance of management systems to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.- Minimum 2 years safety role experience- Behavioural safety experience desirableAbout William Hare Group:Around the world clients trust William Hare for the provision of superior steel framework solutions.
