Staff365 are looking to recruit a Toolmaker for our client based in Ripley.Hours of work: Monday - Thursday 8.00am - 5.00pm, Friday 8.00am - 3.00pmMain duties and responsibilities:* To read engineering drawings to produce parts required using Lathes & drills, millingmachines, grinding machines* To conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet thespecifications; make adjustments as necessary.* Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools, using machinetools and hand tools.* Inspect finished dies and calibrators for correct fittings, surface finish, contour conformity,and defects.* Set up and operate conventional, CNC or NC machine tools such as lathes, WEDM machines,milling machines, and grinders to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts to giventolerances and specifications.* Be able to measure finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuringinstruments such as callipers, gauge blocks, micrometres, and dial indicators.* Ensuring that company and legislated Health and Safety procedures are adhered to.Essential Skills:* Ability to problem solve.* Good communication and listening skills.* Good attention to detail and hand to eye co-ordination.* Apprenticeship or above in Machining or Engineering related field.Desirable:* Previous experience of working in a manufacturing / Upvc would be beneficial.
