Job Description

Management Accountant | Ripley | £40,000 - £45,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits Macildowie Finance is currently working on a position offering the opportunity to work for a leading group of businesses, based in Ripley, Derbyshire.The role will provide accountability and responsibility from the outset, with immediate management accounting and forecasting responsibility for this group of successful SMEs, the role will sit alongside the Finance Director and play a pivotal role in theongoing development and growth of the group.The business consists of 4 entities (and a holding company) which are located across the UK (occasional travel to other sites may be required). This is a newly created role, that is designed to allow the Group FD to be more strategic and focused on otherareas of the business as their roles also grows. Group turnover sits c£10m and the wider parent group (listed in Singapore) has a turnover of around £500m annually. This role has also been created to help with reporting to the parent group and providing crucialsupport with further acquisitions as they arise. Good news is that Statutory accounts, Tax computations and Payroll are all current outsourced.Given the nature of the role and the business, this role is based in the office all the time, although the business is happy to be flexible about hours and start/finish times.

  • Responsible, along with the FD, for preparation of management accounts for the group businesses (4 + holding company) including consolidated accounts to the parent group
  • KPI Management & Reporting
  • VAT Returns/Payments
  • Month-end Accounting and Forecasting process (quarterly)
  • Process + systems improvement - currently operating across multiple finance and CRM systems
  • Annual budgeting (along with FD)
  • Supporting Finance Director in all Finance activity
  • Financial and variance analysis and Balance Sheet Review
  • Year End Audit support
  • Management Support
  • Cash Flow forecasting (5 week rolling)
What are you like
  • Qualified/Part -qualified ACCA/CIMA (or QBE with 5 + years of experience) - Ideally AAT qualified
  • 5 years experience in Finance
  • Excellent attention to detail, accurate and diligent
  • A thorough understanding of Double Entry Bookkeeping
  • High degree of integrity
  • Intermediate Excel skills including pivot tables and lookups and ideally experience of Sage/Pegasus Opera
  • Takes personal responsibility to deliver to tight timescales with a disciplined attention to detail
  • Any experience with system development or implementation would be ideal
