Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service has an exciting new opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join the team.Location: Headquarters RipleySalary: £32,909 – £41,496 per annum pay award pending (Career Progression Criteria Applies)Job Type: Full Time, PermanentFinancial Accountant – This Role:An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, competent individual to join the Corporate Finance Team. This is an interesting and demanding role which is open to part qualified applicants. Experience within an accountancy environment and the abilityto demonstrate practical technical accounting expertise is essential.Reporting to the Head of Accountancy, you will assist in the provision of an efficient and effective accounting service. You will have excellent communication skills, be able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and non-financialmanagers and enjoy working as part of a small team as well as on your own initiative.The normal working week is 37 hours however you may occasionally need to work beyond normal office hours. Agile working arrangements can be discussed with the successful candidate.Financial Accountant – Key Responsibilities:- Playing a pivotal role in the closing of the Authority’s accounts and in the production of key accounting statements.- Management accounting and revenue budget manger support.- Preparation of information relating to Firefighter pensions and completion of funding returns.- Preparation of medium-term forecasts and budgets.Financial Accountant – You:The service is interested in applicants from a range of experience and entry points, ranging from experienced fully qualified individuals to part qualified accountants looking to take the next step in their career. We will support you to develop a wide skillset, based on a combination of accounting theory and practical work experience needed to give you a platform from which to progress your career in Accountancy.
