Elevation Procurement & Supply Chain are partnered with a highly successful manufacturing business based in Derbyshire to recruit an Assistant Warehouse Manager vacancy.Main PurposeTo assist in the management and operation of the warehouse and all associated activities. To ensure on time delivery targets are achieved and that the warehouse area is safe, clean and organised.Principal Duties & Responsibilities*To assist in the management and operation of the warehouse and all associated activities.*Assist to strategically manage the Despatch and Goods receiving/Raw materials warehouses in compliance with companys policies and vision.*Adopting and enforcing safe working practices in all aspects of the distribution operation.*Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures*Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements*Maintain high standards of housekeeping, warehouse cleanliness/hygiene and security*Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system.*Liaise with customers, haulage and transport companies to maintain positive relationships. *Plan and manage work rotas, assign tasks and projects and appraise staff at required intervals*Produce reports and statistics regularly for the warehouse manager (on time delivery performance, stock turns, dead stock, variance analysis etc.)*Supervise staff in accordance with company policies and procedureThe ideal person:*Good leadership qualities, able develop and maintain a culture of performance excellence.*Logical and analytical with a strong drive to achieve high quality standards*Capable of working under pressure and to deadlines*Ability to maintain high standards of housekeeping/work area cleanlinessA background within both pallet and item pick warehouse environments would be advantageous.Experience of working within a manufacturing environment supplying product direct to retailers, wholesales and consumers would also be high desired.
