SEMH Support Assistant Full time1:1 SEMH support in Year 2Primary School in RawtenstallThe Role:The successful candidate will be required to work on a 1:1 basis with a child in Year 1 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. This pupil needs nurturing support which will contribute towards positively managing challenging behaviour and enable them to return to class on a permanent basis. The role would be on a full time basis, Monday – Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm, to start on Friday 4th September. The Head Teacher has said ideally, they would be looking for the 1:1 support to continue for the rest of the academic year with a view to go onto a permanent contract.You would be supporting the child on 1:1 basis, before the school closures the child was spending the majority of the school week working outside of the classroom on an individualised timetable. They have been attending school during the closures however have struggled with adapting to the changes, with this in mind the Head Teacher is prepared for this child to be unsettled in September.The School:The primary school is average sized in the Rawtenstall area. The school has an effective behaviour policy in place, with this they have very high expectations of behaviour management in school. The school has a supportive and very approachable SLT.
