Registered House ManagerROC Northwest- Residential Children and Young People ServiceOTE up to £40,000 per annum dependant on experience (Qualified)£78.30 per sleep-in workedBased on 40 hour per week contract. Office hours Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.00pmROC Northwest Ltd is a private organisation that offers high quality residential care and education for children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Learning, Physical Disabilities and complex needs with associated challenging behaviour andyoung people with SEBD. We are looking for a Registered Manager to fulfil an important role within the organisational structure of ROC Northwest Ltd. As such, he/she will be expected to play an active part in, and make a significant contribution to, the ongoingdevelopment and improvement of the work of the home, the care staff team and the programmes and activities for young people.Your role as a Registered Manager for ROC Northwest is to provide an emotionally secure, consistent, warm, supportive and caring environment for the young people encouraging their social, physical, emotional intellectual and moral development so that theymay realise their own potential. You will also ensure the smooth running of the home, assigning specific tasks to the support workers and monitoring their completion with the support of a Deputy House Manager.Essential Must have NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care Children and Young People Services Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Children and Young Peoples Services is desirable. Willingness to complete this Diploma is essential for the post. Previous experience in a care setting at management level is essential. The Desire and Commitment to achieve high standards of Safeguarding. Full U.K Driving Licence with own car (company is provided during working hours) Able to work unsociable hours to suit the needs of the home and business (evenings, nights and weekends) and undertake on call duties as per a monthly rota.Main Purpose of the PostThe post holder will be responsible for their specific home, to ensure that the service needs are met. These responsibilities will include:- Lead and direct the day-to-day operational management of the home, ensuring that available resources are used effectively to enable the provision of a good quality service. Ensure that all staff working within the home receive regular supervision, in accordance with ROC Northwest Policy. Work closely with the Referrals coordinator, participating in the selection and compatibility of potential new residents, their assessment, and transition into the home if appropriate. Ensure that all service users have a dynamic support plan, which involves the person as far as is possible, takes account that persons needs and aspirations, and is reviewed regularly. Hold responsibility for ensuring that the Home operates in accordance with all statutory requirements, demonstrating a sound understanding of the legislative framework. Ensure that the Home offers a Safe Environment geared to creating opportunities for the personal development of service users, taking into account practical, physical and emotional needs. Take a lead role for risk analysis within the Home, ensuring that appropriate assessments take place, and plans put in place to minimise risk where necessary. Liaise with external Agencies as appropriate, and ensure that contact between the staff team and those Agencies is conducted in a professional manner. Work with the Recruitment Department in supporting the recruitment and selection of staff, and assist the Area Manager in the formulation of staffing strategies, Policies and Procedures, and other pieces of managerial work as required. Participate, as required, in the formulation of budgets, and to monitor expenditure in specific budget headings, as required. Ensure that proper record and administrative systems are in place within the Home, as required by ROC Northwest Policy & Procedures, and Statutory Authorities. Attending management meetings as and when required. Be accountable for the management of the Homes petty cash float and any monies/valuables belonging to service users kept within the home. Undertake on call duties as required. Ensure that the home is run in accordance with good Health & Safety practice and legal requirements.
