Information Governance Analyst (Graduate or entry level role )

Up to £30,000 + benefits
Remote - Leeds office

My client a leading software provider based in Leeds are actively looking for an Information Governance Analyst to join their existing team of three. Within this role you will report directly into their Head of information security and will have ownershipover driving information governance and data privacy requirements for the organisation and their customer base.This role could suit an information security graduate (ideally with a year in industry or similar,) or a compliance professional looking to move into an information security focused role.The main accountabilities:

Ensuring Group policies that relate to data privacy are current and accurate
Reviewing DPIAs (data protection impact assessments) to quantify and assess any risks to confidential information
Maintaining Article 30 artefacts for GDPR compliance.
Designing and delivering IG training to colleagues within the group
Embedding IG processes and awareness across the business
Mitigating Information Governance risks
Providing advice and guidance using knowledge of DP Regulations and IG Policy
Support senior management and provide support to governance forums

The scope of the role is to ensure all uses of confidential data within the company
have been appropriately assessed for risk and that all staff who may handle or process data are aware of their responsibilities.

Knowledge, skills and experience:Essential

Exceptional organisational skills with strong attention to detail
Experience of working within Information Governance
Analytical and logical thinker
Legal/DPA/GDPR qualifications
A good knowledge of Data Protection legislation
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Desirable

Exposure to Risk Management methodology
Experience with ISO 27001
