Whatever your specialty, youll find that excelling at Energizer provides opportunities to grow in ways you never expected.Come join our team!Position SummaryAs a Senior Product Engineer on Energizer’s R&D Auto Care team you will develop new products and lead product improvements key to maintaining our industry leading position. You will work with a global, cross-functional team that includes internal scientists, marketing, procurement, and operations. Product formulation experience and an understanding of manufacturing processes and project management skills are preferred.The position, based in Rassau, Wales, is a part of Energizer’s Auto Care business, a customer-focused, innovation-oriented, fast growing consumer packaged goods company. Energizer is passionate about making time in the car more enjoyable with market-leading brands of car air fresheners, cleaning, and conditioning products.AccountabilitiesThe position supports global automotive auto appearance and performance brands including Armor All, Nu Finish, and STP by providing formulation, product testing, engineering, and scale-up support to enhance existing portfolio.Specific accountabilities include:

  • Work as part of the Energizer team to develop new products, implement cost and/or performance improvements, and engineer solutions to deliver on time, cost, and performance objectives.
  • Interact with and sometimes lead cross-functional teams including marketing, procurement, legal, manufacturing, and external third parties such as global suppliers and contract manufacturers
  • Develop action plans and conduct robust experiments to generate new engineering and scientific knowledge that leads to new and improved products and processes.
  • Coordinate manufacture and testing of new products, and work with internal plants and external suppliers to implement product requirements.
  • Plan, Execute, Analyse, and summarize plant trials working closely with Manufacturing, engineering, and production site technical resources
  • Conduct hands on bench scale product testing
  • Ensure product meets relevant national, international and industry standards. Coordinate product certification testing.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and detailed records including product specification and engineering documents.
  • Support the organization to resolve customer, consumer, and supplier technical issues.
  • Mentor others and provide technical and project leadership and will be expected to participate in establishing Intellectual Property related to assigned programs.
  • Practice proper safety procedures provide leadership to others in key result areas, and participate in continuous improvement activities, serving as a team member as required.
  • May supervise and develop non-exempt colleagues and provide annual appraisals of their performance and developmental feedback
    • Minimum Qualifications
  • HND, NVQ, BSc or similar evidence of further education and 5+ years related experience with formulation of consumer and/or industrial products or 15+ years of related industry experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
