Thats when it hits home.As part of our awesome team of Support Workers, youll assisttwo wonderful, yet complex young men who are brothers and in fact twins!They are autistic and love spending time indoors and outdoors doing the things they enjoy and are important to them. Theyhave sensory processing difficulties and often seek out sensory feedback to help them regulate their emotions including playing music, exposure to running water, seeking out and repeating movements that are purposeful for them and other activities individualto them both.This could be walking in the park,enjoying the experience of being in a swimming pool or going out for a supported drive in the countryside.Understanding how these fantastic young men respond to sensory messages is important to be aware of, as sometimes sounds and smells as well as touch can feel different for them and be over stimulating or something that they seek out.With the understandingand the help of our Team Leaders and clinical team, youll help coordinate activities and experiences meaningful to them and for them, so that they can participate in their favourite things as well as trying out new things that have been identified as aspirationsfor the future.Youll be part of our brilliant team, whoprovide support that is person-centred, recognises someones past life and experiences and builds on their strengths.Youll be helping them to enjoy the best quality of life and live as independently as possible.Youllprovideconsistent customer focused support and routines underpinned by predictability, effective ways to communicate determined by customer preference.Youlluse your knowledge of our customers strengths, alongthe support of their amazing parents to maximise opportunities.Youllbe patient, have a calm disposition, great listening skills as well as remaining assertive and encouraging.
