Job Description

gap personnel (acting as an employment business) are currently recruiting for one Electricval Tester for our client in Birmingham.Reporting to the Electrical Testing Team Leader, this role is responsible to electrically test the full range of tna equipment prior to dispatch in accordance with tna test procedures. The Electrical Tester will fault find and diagnose faults and recorderrors in line with tna testing protocol and assist and guide the Electrical Fitter in terms of rectification of any errors. They may also be required to assemble electrical components and wire electrical control panels and to line wire tna products in accordancewith electrical drawings and other written and verbal specifications according to the Electrical Testing Team Leader. The role is responsible for completing all electrical testing operations in line with all safety measures to a high level of accuracy andwith minimal errors according to drawing.Key responsibilities:1.Participate in all electrical testing work, including record keeping, and competency development activities as required.2.Identify and check electrical components, labels and wiring in accordance with tna drawings.3.Identify, assemble, and dismantle electrical components.4.Construct and wire electrical control panels and machines.5.Use drawings, diagrams, schedules, standards, codes, and specifications.6.Terminate cables, cords, and accessories for low voltage circuits.7.Apply Occupational Health and Safety regulations, codes, and practices in the workplace.8.Use computer applications relevant to a workplace.Specific Duties1.Interpret complex electrical diagrams and schematics as required in accordance with customer specification.2.Check and record errors to drawing and carry out testing in accordance with tna Testing Procedure3.Carry out equipment testing with product for customers and assist with product demonstrations.4.Wiring and cabling electrical panels and equipment according to customer specification.5.Fix components on electrical gear trays in line with tna quality standards and standard operating procedures.6.Fit electrical gear trays, screens and safety switches and other electrical components as required to enclosures and connect all cables.7.Fit mechanical equipment such as plinths to completed panels.8.Encase electrical circuitry in steel enclosure and fit switches and screens as required.9.Assist with cleaning equipment and making ready to inspect prior to crating.Selection Criteria:QualificationsNVQ Level 3 Electrical.Work ExperiencExperienced panel wirer with electrical testing background.KnowledgeAble to build entire electrical control panels, including fitting their support structures and electrical componentry, and line wire complex machines and electrical panels following electrical diagrams, drawings and in line with specific customer specifications.Attributes5 + years of electrical assembly experience, including panel building and wiring, in an industrial setting. At least 2-3 years of experience in electrical testing.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/electrical schematics.Experienced using measurement devices such as a tape measure, multi-meters, insulation tester, punches, and others.Willing and able to work overtime as required.Demonstrates a professional and respectful attitude with teammates, vendors, and customers.Skills & AbilitiesHigh attention to detail and quality.Able to follow written procedures, documents and drawings.Able to problem solve & make decisions in line with organisational philosophies and practices.Able to execute and meet deadlines, ensuring & emphasising attention to detail.Able to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
