Job Description

Technical Sales EngineerSalary circa 35-40k dependent on skills and experience + car allowanceFull timeBased in West YorkshireExtensive UK travelLBBC Beechwood manufactured pressure vessels are in use around the world in a wide range of industries. Applications for the companys manufacturing expertise cover the processing of oil, gas, rubber, timber, food and chemicals.Due to continued expansion an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to join the existing team in delivering UK based field sales.The Technical Sales Engineer will be responsible for maintaining a strong pipeline of sales enquiries, by visiting existing and potential clients on an on-going basis, establishing their needs, understanding their markets, and forging long lasting relationships.This role is within the LBBC Beechwood Division of the privately owned LBBC Group, and when ready, youll have the opportunity to join the Divisions new Management Team and be a key player in the continued success of this 5th generation and world leadingbusiness.You will be instrumental in growing sales year on year, in line with gross margin and sales turnover expectations.Responsibilities but not limited to:-

  • Fully understand our customers and markets in which we operate.
  • Continually search for new clients that match with our manufacturing capabilities and who benefit from our expertise and experience
  • Qualify all enquiries at an early stage. Establish where we have the expertise and know how, available capacity, lead time expectations, customer budget
  • Make technical presentations, demonstrating how our service offer will meet client needs.
  • Adopt the Group PILOT sales process - Positioning, Interest, Lead Conversion, On-going and Track.
  • First point of contact for all new customer enquiries.
  • Establish key customer requirements and specifications before handing over the estimating for Fabrication and complex machining projects to the Technical & Projects Manager, and machined parts to the Machine Shop Manager.
Qualifications/Capabilities
  • An energetic and experienced Technical Sales Engineer with a minimum HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
  • A self-starter, highly self-motivated to deliver outstanding customer service and sales growth.
  • Willing to travel throughout the UK daily. Occasional overseas travel may be necessary.
  • Technical know-how of pressure vessel, manufacturing preferred
  • An ability to build long lasting business relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent negotiating skills.
  • Commercially astute.
  • Focused on margin and profit.
  • IT literate with CRM experience.
  • Preferably possesses formal marketing experience.
  • An ability to read engineering drawings essential.
