Elevation Recruitment Group Engineering & Manufacturing are the retained recruitment partner to WDS Components on a newly created role for a Senior CNC Machinist.Due to continued expansion and recent investments in machinery, tooling and equipment in the European Manufacturing Facility has enabled WDS to increase capacity at a time when onshoring is a real and viable strategy, since global supply chains have sufferedcontinuous disruption with escalating costs. WDS continues to focus on growing market share through rapid additions to the competitive product portfolio to suit customer requirements and is now embarking on a new era of technological advancements and engineering excellence where product quality and customerservice superiority reigns supreme.Job Brief:As a key member of WDSs technical team linking both production engineering, machining, and machine / process efficiencies, this role will play a pivotal part in the development of a range of machinery on site. Utilising industry experience, programming, andmachining experience in a hybrid role combining hands on shop floor impact with a more strategic technical oversight, this role would be perfect for an experience programmer/setter/operator looking to step up and a production/process engineer from a machiningbackground looking to really make a difference. You will support the business cross functionally in the development of key machinery ensuring the equipment is being fully utilised, also providing hands on programming, setting, operating at times were required. Key Responsibilities & Activities:* Reporting to the Production Manager and working with the Production Engineer to provide the production team with process development to drive cost and efficiency reductions* Reviewing manufacturing routes / operations for both Turned and Milled parts and implementing improvements* Writing and proving CNC programs on CNC machines* Setting and Operating machines to fulfil production needs where required* Providing technical engineering support and training to the production teamSkills, Education & Experience Required:* Apprentice Trained in Mechanical Engineering* Must have 5 years hands on machining experience in CNC Turning ideally on bar fed lathes and be proficient at programming for Fanuc or Citizen/Miyano controls* Citizen Sliding Head and Fixed Head programming experience desirable* Ideally already able to operate ONE CNC and CNC Wizard programming software* Ideally will have some hands on CNC Milling experienceElevation Engineering & Manufacturing is a specialist recruitment consultancy dealing with senior engineering, technical and operational positions in Yorkshire and the surrounding regions.
