Job Description

Are you an accountant with experience gained in the manufacturing sector, or perhaps an assistant accountant with good excel skills and interested in developing your career within a manufacturing businessIf either of the above sound like you, I would be interested in hearing from you as I am currently supporting a bespoke manufacturing business in their search for an accountant who will play a hands-on no.2 role.The successful applicant will support the financial controller with both cost accounting / budgeting and transactional finance duties, your duties will include:

  • Produce and further develop weekly and monthly Production Costing and Job Reports
  • Analysis of these and identification of any significant variances
  • Assist in review of product/job costs, to include full review of cost rates & overhead absorption methodology
  • Monitor and evaluate inventories, including regular physical inventory counts and reconciliations to the accounts
  • Payroll processing for monthly salaries & all the associated HMRC reporting
  • Sales invoicing
  • Job profitability reports
  • Petty cash
  • Processing cash receipts (multi-currency)
  • Assist in other areas of the Finance department and provide back-up if and when required
  • Help to establish internal reporting deadlines and ensure these are met on key reporting deliverables
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, and supporting schedules
  • Monitor variances to budgets and forecasts
Our client feels this role could suit either an experienced QBE accountant, or a studier and we are open to receiving applications from either.
