Job Description

A well-established, full service, Law Practice with a National presence is seeking to bolster its Commercial offering with the recruitment of a Commercial Litigation solicitor or FCILExThe firm is renowned for its commercially minded, entrepreneurial approach and significant growth has been enjoyed over recent years. If you are career minded and enjoy operating in a fast-moving environment - this is a genuinely exciting opportunity whereyou will be rewarded very quickly.The Opportunity:The role involves managing a varied litigation caseload including sale and carriage of goods, provision of services, commercial agency, guarantees, consumer credit, franchising, distribution and finance agreements, and enforcement of any judgment. Also propertylitigation including landlord and tenant, possession proceedings, disputes relating to boundaries and easements.In return the firm offers a friendly and supportive working environment with room to progress and develop in their career, along with flexible working arrangements.You will be required to:

  • Work as part of the Litigation Department, under the supervision of the Partners, dictating and delegating work to the support staff as appropriate.
  • Acting for claimant and defendant in a variety of commercial disputes.
  • Able to work with companies, partnerships, and individuals to help meet their specific needs.
  • Ensure that cases are dealt with cost efficiently and that clients are fully appraised of the costs / risks situation as applied to their case.
  • Accurately time-record your work to assist in prompt billing.
  • Efficiently manage files to ensure clients are aware of the costs being incurred and money paid on account.
  • Take an active role in business development, including attend networking events and promoting the firm via social media.
In this role, you will be immersed and valued quickly. Whilst managing your own caseload you will also be given scope to drive new business activity. Your ability to build trusting relationships with your clients and gain an appreciation of their challengeswill offer you the grounds to creatively provide solutions.Whats needed to be considered
  • Be a Qualified Solicitor or FCILEx
  • Ability to deal with technical details and to express solutions to complex legal issues in a concise and customer-friendly way.
  • Literate and numerate.
  • Ability to present and argue a case orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work accurately in accordance with the requirements of each team.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
