This family owned and managed weaving mill based in Pool-in-Wharfedale, West Yorkshire is looking for an individual with a good work ethic to join their team as a Warehouse Operative.They are looking to utilise the governments Kickstart scheme and therefore we actively encourage applicants who are aged 16-24 claiming Universal Credit to apply. You will be interested in working as a Warehouse Operative and willing to undertake training and have a positive attitude.Candidates with previous experience who fall out of this criteria will also be considered.THE WAREHOUSE OPERATIVE ROLE:Working in a small team to monitor and store yarn, releasing to production to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the weaving and warping departments. Ensuring materials comply exactly with specifications on yarn analysis sheets. Keeping the production area tidy.EMPLOYMENT DETAILS:* Full-time / Permanent* Hours: 7am-4pm* Hourly rate: up to £8.91 per hour - National Minimum Wage will be applied to the relevant age group.ATTRIBUTES & EXPERIENCE* Good attention to detail and organisational skills.* Accurate record keeping skills.* Ability to multi-task and prioritise in a fast paced environment.* Uses own initiative and can work independently.* Excellent timekeeping* Willing to learn new skills.* Experience of working in a warehouse / textile environment an advantage.* Forklift / stacker truck licence an advantage but training will be providedDUTIES* To ensure all goods received are exactly as stated on the delivery note, regarding description and quantity.* To enter goods on Yarn Movement Sheet and maintain an accurate record of the movement of each lot.* To release yarn into production when instructed. Checking quality, shade and lot number against Yarn Analysis Sheet.* To ensure yarns are kept in the bay designated and when moved, to alter the stock record accordingly.* To ensure that every yarn trolley or creel is clearly labelled (count, shade, lot number, spinner and weight if applicable).* To re-weigh, bag and tag yarn after the weaving process and return to stock.* To ensure that a high standard of housekeeping is maintained within your department.* To assist in the maintenance of a safe working environment through the strict adherence to company health and safety rules and procedures.* Ensuring that all Personal Protective Equipment as issued is used.* Any other duties as requested by the line manager that are deemed within your capabilities.Please apply with an up to date CV.Key Appointments UK Ltd will assess your suitability for the role based on the information contained in your CV and application.
