Job Description

Are you an experienced service engineer, looking to join one of the biggest machine tool businesses in the world Do you want to be paid a stronger basic salary, or perhaps you need to earn over £55K a year OTEWith a reputation for exceptional quality and reliability, their CNC machine tools are globally recognized. They have a strong network of service engineers across the UK, along with 2 additional technical support staff who are office-based. They have a headoffice here in the UK for equipment storage, refurbishment and distribution, as well as a global headquarters outside of the UK where the equipment is built.Responsibilities for the service engineer include -

Breakdown repairs and maintenance of CNC Machines including multi axis Mills and Lathes
Routine service and inspections, as well as fault finding
Carrying out mechanical and minor electrical repairs to ballscrews, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, motors
Machine levelling and alignments
Installation and commissioning of machinery on site
Ordering of parts from the office, replacing and retrofitting
Providing end user training and customer support both remotely and on site
Travel from home to site covering regionally to your location on service and breakdown, but be prepared to travel nationally when installation & commissioning projects are required.

There are 23 trained technicians across the UK, along with 2 technical support staff at the end of the phone for troubleshooting support. Your role would remain regional in the East Midlands area, as the business prefer to keep you active in your own territoryduring breakdown & service visits.Product training provided, along with job shadowing with engineers in the teamWe would love to hear from suitable candidates with the following skills and experience- Previous experience as a CNC service engineer, or service technician - Mechanically bias, ideally holding an NVQ level 3 in mechanical engineering - Experience working with FANUC controls- Good knowledge of fault-finding, diagnostics checking and equipment inspections - Willingness to travel nationally, and be prepared to stay overnight if required- Clean driving license No call out is required with this role, weekend overtime has to be pre-authorized by both client and head office before being offered out to the team.Benefits including an excellent base salary of £46k depending on experience, salary review after 6 months increasing to £49,996, plus an OTE of £55K with overtime weekday / weekends, company vehicle with choice of van or hybrid car, mobile phone & laptop,36 days holiday, private pension, healthcare, life assurance and yearly pay rises.The business are prepared to be as flexible and supportive as possible, overnight stays and extensive travel is ideally kept to a minimum, but the business requires someone who is prepared to do both when necessary.
