HMLRs ambition is to become the worlds leading land registry for speed, simplicity and an open approach to data.We are now looking for a Senior Accessibility Consultant to join our Digital, Data and Technology team to help us to achieve this.Our Senior Accessibility Consultant: As a Senior Accessibility Consultant, you will manage the high-level strategic plan for accessibility and inclusion work at HMLR, project managing a wide variety of streams of accessibility and inclusion work for internal and external services,and act as both the technical specialist for accessibility and inclusion, but also own and be the authority responsible for accessible design policy development, including making decisions regarding accessibility, inclusion, and the impact those decisionshave.This is a new role in the HMLR design practice and is an exciting opportunity to shape the role, strategy, direction, and processes for accessible and inclusive design from scratch. You will manage responses to accessibility complaints brought to HMLR, providingsolutions and recommendations to delivery teams to fix, and a strategy to senior stakeholders on how to avoid these in future.What were looking for in our Senior Accessibility Consultant:To meet the requirements of this role, you will have relevant work experience or a degree or further education in a related discipline, including accessibility, interaction, service and digital design.You will be able to provide evidence of expert skills in putting together and executing on a strategy for accessible and inclusive services, including experience of communicating a vision and agreeing or negotiating requirements with a wide range of seniorstakeholders, directors, and heads of practices. You will have strong negotiation and persuasion skills to ensure accessibility is considered at programme level. A broad range of communication skills are essential including, presenting complex data and topics,public speaking, teaching, coaching and excellent written skills.In addition, you will have expert knowledge and experience of the Government Service Standard, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), Equality Act 2010, the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations 2018 and ensure compatibility with AssistiveTechnologies.
