Job Description

SEN Teaching Assistant - Temporary to PermanentWant to work for a school but also get paid a highly competitive rate We are seeking an exceptional candidate to join our team as aSEN Teaching Assistantat our community primary school in Plymouth. The successful candidate will be basedwithin a highly skilled team, where they will work closely with children who have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Our school has agreat reputationfor providing high-quality education and support to all students. Not onlythis but the staff are renowned for supporting all members of their team!Position Details:

  • Role:SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Location:Plymouth, United Kingdom
  • Salary:£85 per day
  • Contract:Full-time (5 days a week)
  • Start Date:ASAP
Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEND, both inside the classroom and during specialised sessions.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with specific needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Collaborate with other staff members, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience:Previous experience working with children with SEND is highly desirable.
  • Empathy:A genuine passion for supporting children with diverse learning needs.
  • Patience:Ability to remain patient and calm in challenging situations.
  • Adaptability:Willingness to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student requirements.
  • Communication:Excellent communication skills to liaise with teachers, parents, and external agencies.
  • Team Player:Ability to work collaboratively within a team of educators.
