Job Description

Salary Negotiable depending on experienceMy client, based in The Devon area, are considered an extremely sought after engineering group within their industry. My client has extensive knowledge and expertise in the production of precision machined components and assemblies for industries such asdefense, telecomms, medical and aerospace markets, An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced and results driven Production manager to join their ever growing team.What will you be doing as a Production Manager

  • Raise work orders
  • Monitoring Load vs Capacity
  • Identify and priorities urgent/critical customer orders
  • Update stock asset and shortage reports
  • Develop and maintain measures of performance linked to relevant KPIs
  • To liaise with staff at all levels of the business effectively communicating work flow and priorities
  • To motivate staff and lead by example demonstrating best practise at all times
  • Work in conjunction with Team Leaders to establish an effective and achievable Schedule Production Plan.
  • Forecast monthly shipments/past dues
  • Maintain manufacturing order priority comments, Customer Critical list and progress urgent requirements
  • Work with process engineers to improve quality and efficiency
  • Ensure that transactional (MRP) disciplines are maintained
  • Maintain effective working relationships with shift leaders to allow effective team and group working in problem solving and process development.
  • To liaise with staff at all levels of the business effectively communicating work flow and priorities
  • Manage the efficient flow of work through the department to ensure delivery targets are achieved
  • Manage and develop procedures to reduce costs and increase operational efficiency
  • Ensure that the work carried out is completed to a very high standard, meeting customer expectations at all times
  • Be aware, responsible and adhere to the budgetary controls within the department
  • Achieve KPIs
  • Manage others as illustrated on the organisation chart
  • Assist other office staff when required (annual leave, sickness
Skills/Attributes for the role of Production Manager
  • A proven track record of Production Planning and Production managment experience
  • Strong customer awareness and a strong customer focus
  • Ability to identify and balance bottle necks.
  • Good manufacturing knowledge and experience is essential
  • Methodical and organised
  • Dynamic in their approach to work
  • Resilient and can-do attitude
  • MRP experience
  • Used to managing a team
