Job Description

Job Summary:Butler Rose are currently seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our client, a dynamic manufacturing business based in Plymouth. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting site production facilities through planned and un-planned maintenanceof plant and equipment, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and functionality. The role involves preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities to minimise downtime and maximise operational efficiency.Key Responsibilities:

  • Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular preventive maintenance to ensure machines operate at peak efficiency.
  • Identify and diagnose malfunctions or issues affecting machines.
  • Perform root cause analysis to determine the source of problems and implement effective solutions.
  • Execute timely and accurate repairs to minimise production interruptions.
  • Calibrate and align machine components to maintain precision and accuracy.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and replacement parts.
  • Provide regular reports on machine performance and maintenance metrics.
  • Coordinate with production and engineering teams to understand machine requirements and address any issues.
  • Collaborate with external vendors for spare parts procurement and technical support.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Participate in safety training programs and contribute to the development of safety procedures.
Education:
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer, preferably with CNC machines.
  • Familiarity with the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of CNC systems.
  • Proficient in reading technical drawings and manuals.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions to minimise downtime.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborative attitude with the ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Willingness to share knowledge and provide support to colleagues.
Package:
  • Salary up to £39,000 including shift premium
  • Shift pattern Monday to Friday 6am - 2pm and 2pm - 10pm, alternating weeks
  • Enhanced pension
  • Leave entitlement 34 days including bank holiday
