Job Description

In these roles, your daily presence will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of primary school students.Role and Responsibilities:As an integral part of the team, SEN Teaching Assistants will contribute significantly to the support of children with exceptional educational needs and challenging behaviours. Key responsibilities encompass:

  1. Tailored Assistance:Offering personalisedsupport to students, addressing the unique challenges associated with their primary autism diagnosis and complex requirements.
  2. Collaboration:Engaging in collaborative efforts with educators, therapists, and specialists to establish an inclusive learning environment that caters to the distinct needs of each student.
  3. Customised Educational Plans:Implementing personalisededucational programs and methodologies to empower pupils to reach their full potential and achieve developmental milestones.
  4. Social and Emotional Growth:Fostering social connections, communication skills, and emotional development—fundamental components of overall growth.
  5. Personal Well-Being:Providing assistance with personal care to ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.
  6. Progress Tracking:Actively participating in students development by observing, reporting on progress, and contributing to their overall growth.
Requirements:To excel in these roles, candidates should possess:
  • Experience in Care and Support Work:Preference will be given to candidates with relevant experience.
  • Passion for Education:Demonstrating a genuine interest in education and a commitment to witnessing students thrive.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Abilities:Exhibiting excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with students facing diverse challenges, coupled with empathy and patience.
  • Proactive and Adaptable Strategy:Navigating changing circumstances with a proactive and adaptable approach.
  • School Experience:While beneficial, previous school experience is not mandatory.
  • Enhanced DBS:Candidates should have an Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
