Job Description

Here at HM Land Registry, we have 2 fantastic opportunities for experienced Data Analysts to join our Customer and Strategy group.You will join us on a permanent full-time or part timebasis (minimum of 30 hours per week), and in return,you will receive a competitive salary of£28,080 per annum (pro rata) as an Associate Data Analyst (EO grade), and £34,854 per annum (pro rata) as a Data Analyst (HEO grade).As our Associate Data Analyst or Data Analystyou can join us at any of the below offices:Birkenhead, North West England : Croydon, London (region): Coventry, West Midlands (England): Durham, North East England: Weymouth, South West England: Gloucester, South West England: Kingston upon Hull, Yorkshire and the Humber: Leicester, East Midlands(England): Nottingham, East Midlands (England): Peterborough, East of England: Plymouth, South West England: Warton, North West England: Swansea, Wales: Telford, West Midlands (England)About the role:You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of a wide variety of data programs, data products and core statistics across HM Land Registry (HMLR) by defining and running complex queries against a wide variety of internal and external data sources.Both roles will be involved in carrying out analysis to professional standards, generating outputs that are easily accessible and consumable by internal and external stakeholders, and using output to support advice and actionable recommendations that willbe used to underpin business delivery, development or change across the organisation.The HEO role will take on the additional responsibility of managing a team of Associate data Analysts.Key responsbilities of ourAssociate Data Analyst & Data Analyst roles:

  • Compile data sets from multiple data sources, and carry out data analysis and deliver timely and accurate outputs to support business needs
  • Deliver HMLR corporate statistics and support the enhancement of HMLR data to align with defined specifications
  • Support business functions in the development of products or services using data
  • In addition, the HEO role will provide technical guidance to others within the practice.
What we arelooking for in a Associate Data Analyst & Data Analyst:To be successful in this role you will have:
  • A degree in a relevant subject (computer science, mathematics/statistics, geography or IT-related); or have the equivalent industry experience
  • Experience of creating, compiling, cleansing, structuring, and manipulating multiple data sources to enable analysis of datasets, and be confident to carry out analysis with Python / R and SQL
  • Adept at carrying out data analysis to derive meaningful insight to resolve business problems
  • Both roles require a sound understanding of statistical methods for sampling distribution assessment, bias and error, along with experience of using statistics to resolve problems and give business insight.
