Job Profile SummaryAbout the opportunity:In 2020, we announced an exciting new strategy, reimagining bp from an integrated oil company to an integrated energy company. Identified as one of the integrator business groups, Trading and Shipping (T&S) willplay a key role in helping bp transform and deliver on its ambitions by linking businesses across the energy value chains. T&S is bps face to the traded markets in oil, gas, power, bio, low carbon and finance.The Market Development and Innovation (MDI) teamwas crafted to be the integrator within T&S, driving and implementing the strategic priorities of T&S. It consists of the Strategy, Data, Product Innovation/Vista (technology), Portfolio Management and Modernisation Teams.Portfolio Management (PM) providesthe tools to enable commercial decision making and prioritisation to the leadership team, so that our med to long-term strategic and financial delivery targets can be met. We are in the early stages of growth, so vision, processes and approaches are beingdeveloped to establish a robust framework.Job AdvertAbout the role:Reporting into the VP T&S Portfolio Management, you will:Focus on key projects to help develop and embed the concept of PM in T&SDrive engagement with senior leaders across the Trading businessto develop credible processes and solutionsUnderstand the strategies, opposing priorities and requirements across the value chain (Trading benches, Finance, I&E, S&S, RC&S, MDI etc.)Participate in or lead strategy projects in partnership with the T&S Strategyand Commercial teams, to assist the benches in identifying and defining growth strategies for their businessYou will have responsibility for:Leading projects that fit within the PM framework (e.g. designing and running Working Groups to identify needs of thebusiness)Identifying new areas of focus and work with VP to develop roadmap to address themBringing together and analysing our data to provide insights and build recommendations for T&S leadershipDeveloping and maintaining internal networks across T&S andother bp entities to ensure alignmentSupporting wider projects/working groups (e.g. Salesforce, Commercial Development, Data)Producing briefing materials, reports and presentationsDoes this sound like youBackground in Commercial, Finance, Risk or Consultancyteam, within energy tradingOutstanding record of delivering projects and/or working to achievements, with strong communication skillsExperience in establishing relationships and building trust across groups, with the ability to lead and influence a broad rangeof partnersSelf-motivated and highly driven, whilst possessing interpersonal and decision-making skillsEager to work independently on simultaneous projectsAnalytical, with experience synthesising data from multiple sources into clear structuresCourageous andwilling to challenge existing processes and assumptions at senior levelsAdvanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of productsDiversity: Diversity sits at the heart of our company and as an equal opportunity employer, we stay true to our missionby ensuring that our place can be anyones place.
