Job Description

Do you have a Fume Cupboard and /or Duct Systems background with excellent skills in AutoCAD If so, read on - this could be the career opportunity you have been searching for…CAD Draughtsperson / Junior Projects Engineer £22,000 - £25,000 + Benefits + ExpensesManchesterOur client designs, manufactures, commissions, and installs fume cupboards and associated equipment. They provide help and support to a wide variety of sectors including Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Food, Education and Hospitals.Due to high demand, they now have an exciting and varied opportunity for an experienced CAD Draughtsperson to join their team and take an active part in the design and development of new and existing products.Who we are looking for:Ideally you will be from a Fume Cupboard and/or Ductwork systems background however, you must be proficient in the use of AutoCAD, the current version in use is LT 2020.You will also:

  • Be comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Be able to drive and have a clean full licence.
  • Have their own vehicle capable and permitted for business use.
    • About the role:The company has an active policy of responsibility to ensure that all their designs meet Good Manufacturing Practice and is compliant with the relevant Standards which you will be expected to "buy" into. The correct selection of equipment and any advice given should always be with the End Users safety in mind.Your daily duties will include:
  • Producing detailing drawings of Fume Cupboards, Fume Extract Ductwork & Air Make-Up Systems.
  • Carrying out site surveys, taking measurements to aid in producing detailing drawings.
  • Liaising with Clients, Sub-Contractors and Suppliers.
  • Sourcing of best prices and the raising of Purchase Orders.
  • Management of smaller projects, values up to approx. 50K.
  • Meetings with the Client and Sub-Contractors, face to face on site and/or via Microsoft Teams.
  • Site visits to check progress of our Installation Teams inc. Sub-Contractors.
  • Taking an active part in the design and development of new and existing products.
  • The compiling of Operating & Maintenance Manuals also As Builts on completion of a project.
    • The Package:
  • Annual salary being offered is circa 22 - 25K dependent upon level of experience.
  • £ 0.30 per mile paid when using your own vehicle for attending sites.
  • Core working hours are Monday to Thursday 08.30 to 17.00 with a 30-minute lunch break, Friday is 08.30 to 13.30. Some out of hours working, extended hours and overnight stays are required on occasions to meet the demands of the project.
  • Annual holiday entitlement is 23 days per year up to a maximum of 26 days after 3 years’ service; Bank Holidays are in addition. The holiday period commences 1st January until 31st December each year.
  • Enrolment into the workplace pension scheme is permitted after 3 months.
  • Salary payments are reviewed annually.
  • All necessary PPE will be provided throughout your employment.
  • Training and guidance will be given to expand the chosen candidate’s knowledge.
