Job Description

• The job holder will be required to complete a forklift driving course and operate a forklift truck in accordance with factory operating instructions.
• Daily check of fluid levels and general condition of mobile plant under the job holders control. Reports defects or wear to the supervisor or shift maintenance.
• Off load rejected waste product from trailers.
• Empty waste trailers on site in accordance with the factory instructions.
• Control the outside waste holding area.
• Assist with recycling product via the rod mill, and subsequent recycling / disposal of pallets
• Ensures the waste plant is cleaned throughout the shift.
• Controls the waste plant basement pumps in accordance with the surface water factory instructions.
• Maintains good housekeeping standards in accordance with the 6S system of work.

• Collection, transport and blowing of fly ash pots in accordance with the factory instructions.

• Acts as a banksman when the machine driver is cleaning the Cupola pits.
• Operates product waste & spinner waste box feeders, in accordance with the factory instructions.
• Operates the wired matt shredder in accordance with the factory instructions.
• Operates the transport system from the box feeders to the rod mill in accordance with the factory instructions.

• Operates the rod mill in accordance with the factory instructions.

• Operates the distribution system from the rod mill to the waste bay, in accordance with the factory instructions.
• Regularly inspects all machines for defects or wear and reports these to the Process Controller or shift maintenance.
• Makes adjustment and minor repairs to equipment in the job holders control to ensure they are fully optimised.
• Operates at a level of performance to maintain any agreed performance targets.
• Ensures that any paper work or documentation required is correctly completed and legible.
• The job holder subject to the Shift Managers discretion may be required to complete plant driving courses and operate plant in accordance with factory operating instructions.
• Operates lifting equipment in accordance with factory instructions.
• Participates in the Oobeya process i.e. Machine board meetings & basic problem solving
• Complies with a safe method of working and reports any potential unsafe practices or hazards
• Must also be flexible and willing to work in other areas of the factory as required
