    • Career OpportunityWe are on the lookout for an enthusiastic individual with a clear passion for problem solving to join our growing Innovation team, based at our Head Office in Bridgend.The Innovation team is an integral part of the company which is responsible for creating applications & web services for both our internal teams as well as our extensive customer base.The candidate will be involved in building and maintaining various web services which will be used both internally and by our customers. They should be familiar with Model-View-Controller frameworks and be capable of designing, implementing and testing a full stack solution using both front-end and back-end web technologies. Previous experience utilising HTML 5.0, CSS 3.0, JavaScript, PHP and SQL is essential for the role. A keen eye for design is considered highly desirableThe ideal candidate will be self-motivated and driven, ensuring they meet deadlines with minimal oversight. They should always be looking at ways to continuously improve systems, utilising the latest technologies and principles, ensuring they are always working to best-practice standards.   • Working on projects of varying technical complexity and working within tight and demanding timescales to deliver robust solutions
  • Developing, implementing and testing web-based applications and services utilising various front-end and back-end technologies
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to existing services
  • Defect testing, Issue tracking & Resolution of existing and newly developed systems
  • Writing training manuals for products, systems and processes
  • Self-manage timescales & resources to achieve business objectives set by the Department Manager
    • Essential Skills
  • Previous experience with full stack web development
  • PHP 7 and Laravel
  • JavaScript and associated libraries (jQuery, AngularJS)
  • HTML 5.0 & CSS 3.0
  • Experience writing queries in SQL or similar relational database language
    • Desirable Skills
  • A keen eye for UX design philosophies
  • Knowledge of Agile software development principles
  • Previous Experience utilising REST APIs
