This is a unique opportunity to join the teaching and therapy team at Ysgol y Deri (YYD), in the Vale of Glamorgan. As recently showcased on BBC Wales, YYD is an innovative and inclusive special school with a clear priority for child centred education which supports learner to gain life long confidence and skills.We are inviting application from occupational therapists with expereince of working with adults and/or children with a wide range of disabilities. You will need a strong drive to provide excellent occupational therapy services to our most complex learner. This will include completion of specialist assessments, multi-disciplinary formulation and provision of treatment at home and school. You will build on the outstanding work supporting sensory regulation and curriculum and environmental adaptation that the occupational therapists have implemented to date.We have 2 posts available and will consider applicant preferring full or part time hoursThis roles aligns to the Career Framework for occupational therapy and the post holder will have both clinical and leadership roles within the occupational therapy team. You will be involved in workforce development for education and health staff and coproduce universal and targeted resources aligning to the graduated response within the Additional Learning Needs and Educatin Tribunal Act.You will need excellent communication skills and be able to deliver training to both parent and professionals in both workshop and lecture formats. Confidence in using a range of virtual platforms to deliver occupational therapy is important and a keenness to learn new skills in leadership, clinical and training are required. You will be actively supported to develop your own skills and will receive regular supervision.
