Reed Education Cardiff are currently recruiting for a specialist SEN provision based in The Vale of Glamorgan, that specifically works with children with Additional or Special Educational Needs (ALN/SEN), and also children who may have been through trauma or have Mental Health (MH) issues.I am looking for Teachers and Teaching Assistants (TA’s) to start immediately and who are available full time, that are happy to work within the schools either in Cowbridge or Barry, who really want to make a difference in these childrens lives. The children in question may have had very turbulent home lives, they may be in care, and they may low self-esteem and demolished confidence...they could also be anxious, depressed, or have other medical related illnesses that also contribute to the needs that they have today.They really need an empathetic and consistent member of staff to provide them with the care and support that they so desperately need, along with a disciplinarian who has clear boundaries and expectations for them. The children who the school work with can be difficult - they may display very challenging behaviour (mostly verbal, sometimes physical) but we need our Teachers and TA’s to know the behaviour isnt necessarily their fault, it’s their coping mechanism for communicating about how they feel inside. Understanding that, and not giving up on them at the first hurdle is absolutely paramount.Both of the schools sites offer a huge curriculum – including all of the core subjects, as well as many others mainstream schools provide like Languages, Art, PE etc. Teachers and TA’s that do well here are those are willing to deliver a range of subjects who like a varied day as no day is ever the same. Past success in recruiting here have included those of an ‘outdoorsy’ nature as one of the sites is actually based on a farm – getting stuck in with agriculture of the site is a must and a highly important part of the curriculum that is well thought of by the pupils.If this sounds appealing to you, then you probably are exactly what I am looking for – as it won’t be for everyone.
