Job Description

Job Title: Production AccountantLocation: Kent (Flexibility required for occasional site visits)Contract: Full-time, PermanentSalary: £50,000 The Opportunity:We have an exceptional opening for a dedicated Production Accountant to join the finance team of our reputable client within the manufacturing sector. This role calls for an individual capable of producing accurate financial information and driving optimalprocesses and systems within the team.What Your Role Will Entail:

  • Management Reporting: Preparing regular management reports to offer insights into performance against agreed targets, and propose opportunities for continuous improvement and increased efficiency.
  • Cost Accounting: Improving cost accounting practices to offer meaningful data on manufacturing operations. Taking responsibility for the Bill of Materials for manufactured products and managing inventory information.
  • Performance Indicators: Defining and tracking relevant non-financial Key Performance Indicators to measure efficiency and effectiveness of business activities.
  • Product Costing: Contributing to the calculation of product costs and pricing for existing and new development projects. Collaborating closely with the R&D function to provide timely cost projections.
  • Budgeting: Assisting the Financial Controller with annual operating and capital budget preparations and contributing to the reforecasting of these budgets.
  • Process Improvement: Taking ownership of process improvement projects as directed by the Financial Controller or other Senior Management.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Qualified, Part-qualified CIMA/ACCA or QBE.
  • Prior industry experience, preferably within the manufacturing sector, is essential.
  • Able to produce detailed and accurate product costings using various methodologies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with a focus on Excel.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Jet reporting, and PowerBI would be advantageous, but not essential.
  • A strong team player able to effectively communicate financial information to both finance and non-finance colleagues.
  • A keen commercial awareness with the ability to understand the wider implications of financial decisions on the business.
