Job Description

The Recruitment Co is currently recruiting for A Hotel Night Porter/ Duty Manager to join a well established, award- winning Hotel located in the Gower Peninsula, Swansea.Contract: Permanent Salary: £13.00ph Hours of work: Full time, 10pm-7am shifts: Flexibility with shifts required as these times may change to suit the business needs.Role Summary: The management of the Hotel and associated areas through the night and to ensure the safety and well-being of all guests. The business needs to be ready to open at 7.30am every day with hotel standards in place and compliant.Role Responsibilities:

  • To ensure that customer service is at the heart of everything that you do
  • To coordinate the entire night operation around the customers needs
  • To manage the night in accordance with your checklists
  • To ensure that procedures are adhered to at all times
  • To ensure you have the duty phone on you at all times, in good working order, and answer within 5 rings
  • To ensure that thorough walks of the property are conducted every 3 hours and any issues or disturbances are dealt with in a professional manner
  • Conduct a handover with the Duty Manager to find out if there is any support required in any department before starting night tasks
  • Whilst on shift you are the Duty Manager accountable for dealing with any complaints in a polite and professional manner
  • Respond to any emails in a timely, polite and professional manner
  • Any communication to the team needs to be cascaded in a professional manner
  • Closedown handover to be completed with the most senior Café Bar Team Member
  • Closedown handover to be completed with the most senior Weddings & Events Team Member
  • Complete line-clean once a week in all areas of the hotel and ensure all relevant paperwork is signed and documented
  • Complete Ice machine clean once a week in Bistro and in Marquee and ensure all relevant paperwork is signed and documented
  • To ensure the Hotel and associated areas are securely shut down at the appropriate time with door securely locked
  • To ensure the hotel and associated areas are opened at the appropriate time
  • To support and monitor the wedding team and security as and when required
  • To set up breakfast buffet and tables as the standard identified and ensure enough plates, tumblers etc for all breakfast guests
  • Wash, dry and fold all laundry and place on the correct shelf
  • Sweep and mop following areas: kitchen, kitchen corridor prep room, pot wash, hotel corridor, glass-wash area, bar and front of bar
  • Hoover all areas of the hotel
  • Empty Bins: Kitchen, Hallway, Team Room, Bistro, Reception, Laundry Room etc
  • Ensure Pot-Wash is cleared before breakfast service
  • Clean out fireplaces, ash in metal buckets and vacuum the surroundings
  • Refill wood stores in the lounge and Bistro
  • Clean wedding carpet (if applicable)
  • Ensure external umbrellas are open/closed as applicable
  • Ensure all areas of the hotel and associated areas are well kept and clean with no dirty glasses/crockery left outside
  • Ensure correct music playlist is playing at an appropriate level in all areas when on duty
  • Handover to senior management every morning
  • To be an ambassador for the Hotel at all times
Previous experience within a similar role is preferred. Ideally you will drive due to the clients remote location.
