Job Description

Role: 1st / 2nd Systems Engineer (Service Desk)Location: Orton Southgate, PeterboroughSalary: Up to £25k plus Benefits and Training BudgetStart: ASAPAre you an experienced 1st / 2nd line Engineer with Technical Customer Services skills gained in a Helpdesk, Service Desk environment, with over 2 years experience in an MSP environment If so carry on reading, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.The roleYou will have a range of responsibilities from Handling initial calls, resolving or escalating issues, applying updates as well as internal and external troubleshooting. Travelling may be required to some customers if issues cant be resolved remotely so a drivers license is needed, with the role being based in Peterborough. There will also be some small projects involved with the role, as well as BAU work.Knowledge of some of the following is needed for this role

  • 2+ years working in an MSP is essential
  • Setup and troubleshooting of Windows 7, 8.1, 10
  • Office 365
  • Microsoft Office products
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Backups
  • Server and Hardware troubleshooting and setup
  • Microsoft Exchange 2010-2019
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008-2019
  • Active Directory, Azure Active Directory and Azure AD Connect
  • Virtualisation technologies
  • Group policy (Support and troubleshooting).
  • Networking (IPv4, IPv6, VLAN) (Support and troubleshooting).
  • WIFI/Router/switch knowledge/configuration. (Support and troubleshooting).
  • Security tools (AV, AM, spam-filtering, web-filtering, etc) (Support and troubleshooting).
  • Personal Skills and Attributes
  • Professional customer service skills.
  • Professional written and verbal skills.
  • Professional in attitude and appearance.
  • Ability to balance service issues and requests, in accordance with SLAs
  • Ability to develop and maintain customer relationships.
