Job Description

Job Title: Hardware Electronics EngineerLocation: PeterboroughSalary: £35,000 - £45,000 (depending on experience)Summary of Position:Our client, an innovative Med-Tech business is looking for a Hardware Electronics Engineer to join their growing team. The Hardware Electronics Engineer will be supporting the category by providing electronic and hardware design and engineering expertiseand support for current product range and new product development program.The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Overseeing the electronic and hardware design of new products
  • Act as lead for all hardware and electronic design for the category
  • Implementation and testing
  • Oversee the product from early stages to full manufacture
  • Reactive resolution of any hardware issues
  • Liaise with third party suppliers
  • Proactive improvements to system design
  • Project managing hardware and electronics design packages for new products
  • Work with software engineers
  • Managing compliance with electronic and electric product safety standards
Skills, Experience & Key Candidate Attributes:
  • Formal training in electronics design
  • Practical experience in electronic design and engineering
  • Knowledge of UK & European electrical safety standards, ideally global safety standards
  • Knowledge of static analysis and unit testing
  • Specification and verification document creation
  • Experience of environmental chamber / test house / EMC Testing
  • Experience of project managing electronic product development from concept to production
  • Strong IT skills, experience with MS Office
  • Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail
  • Prioritise workload and work to tight deadlines
  • Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal
  • Teamwork
  • Ability to work in, and adapt to, a rapidly changing environment
  • Confidentiality in handling sensitive data.
  • If possible, knowledge & experience in medical device manufacturing
  • Experience of Embedded C++, Altium Designer (or similar), Linux and Python would be beneficial
