Job Description

Assistant MerchandiserPeterborough £25k-£30k depending on experience Merchandisers play a pivotal role in driving the planning, forecasting, and trading of each range.This is a great opportunity to join a brand which continues to go from strength to strength as it grows its online presence, with over half its annual turnover already coming from online. If you are passionate about ensuring right product, right quantities, right place, and right time and look to maximise profitability by predicting and monitoring sales trends and accurately controlling stock levels this could be the perfect opportunity.First and foremost, this role requires someone with a passion for commerciality. A job in merchandising brings with it a lot of responsibility, youll therefore need good commercial instincts, a thorough understanding of the sector within which you work andan ability to respond quickly when things dont go to plan.If range plan, line card, WSSI, critical path, manual forecasting, QA and trading is in your merchandising world already then great, if not, with the right behaviours, core skills and aptitude they soon may be.Job Summary & Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for daily and weekly sales and stock reporting to identify trading and promotion opportunities.
  • Responsible for buy proposals in line with stock targets and replenishment of stock across channels.
  • Analysis of size ratios and stock management to maximise availability.
  • Responsible for the accurate stock file maintenance across channels to ensure sales optimisation.
  • Responsible for product database management from set up across channels to price file maintenance.
  • Product merchandising on site to ensure SEO, attribution and navigation optimises the customer journey, sales and conversion.
  • Critical path management, liaising with supply base to ensure accurate status reporting and on time deliveries.
  • Management and communication of product launch availability for weekly newness and key promotions.
  • Support to the senior merchandiser to deliver adhoc tasks and reports as required.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:
  • As an Assistant Merchandiser you will be working within a small, but structured team working closely with the Senior Merchandiser and Merchandisers
  • Supporting in all aspects of the Merchandising process, including producing and collating trade reports
  • Liaise with the Buyer and Senior Merchandiser to establish the range and stock plans
  • Analyse lines to ensure correct replenishment levels therefore minimising risk
  • Identify open to buy opportunities and issues,
  • Analyse the rate of sale to identify lines for markdown and promotion
  • Passionate and driven with the ability to thrive in an ever-changing environment.
  • Ambitious and hungry to learn with a can-do attitude.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build external and internal relationships.
  • Analytical skills working with and deriving insight from data.
  • Strong computer literacy being a skilled excel user with confidence to manipulate data and knowledge of nested formulae and pivot tables.
