Job Description

Sustainability OfficerAre you committed to creating a sustainable future Do you have a passion for driving changeI am actively recruiting for an influential individual to help drive the shift to a more sustainable future for my client!This is a new and specialist role, requiring a passion for the sustainability agenda and an ability to collaborate at an advanced level with multiple stakeholders.The main responsibility of the Sustainability Officer is to develop, coordinate and promote effective delivery of investment products and support our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Sustainability initiatives to reduce impact on the environment andimprove social responsibility.Role Responsibilities:

  • To develop and support a recognised engagement programme promoting the environmental values of Oakland International via our subsidiary company Oakland Environmental.
  • To actively research, design and implement strategies to support and develop the sustainability agenda of The 79th Group business units.
  • Directly assist with the identification of the route to Carbon Neutrality, working with internal and external stakeholders and assisting with the implementation of identified strategies
  • Contribute to the creation of a compelling environmental strategy for the Group
  • Design and implement tactical projects which ensure the delivery of the overall environmental strategy.
  • Monitor and report upon progress on the Groups international environmental projects strategy for Board use.
  • Develop and implement a clear and consistent strategy promoting environmental values and behaviours within the various workplaces within the group.
  • Research environmentally beneficial technologies and solutions.
  • Produce simple payback/benefit assessments showing the impact of implementing environmental measures.
  • Produce simple statistics showing levels of engagement with environmental projects amongst team members
The right candidate will possess:Excellent communication skills - the role is operationally active, supporting and/or leading key meetings, demonstrations, and presentations across the business
  • Creative thinking - the ability to create and roadmap a plan of action
  • An organised approach- a very fast paced environment, requiring exceptional diary management
  • An ability to influence - a key part of this role is the ability to bring people on the journey
  • Strong attention to detail - creative in the conception of an idea, but planning and execution will require a keen eye for detail
