This is an exciting opportunity for a Category Specialist in the industrial / manufacturing industry based in Lathom. The successful candidate will be part of the Procurement & Supply Chain team, contributing to the procurement strategies and managing supplierrelationships.Client DetailsOur client is a leading player in the industrial / manufacturing industry. Develop and implement category strategies that fully align with the global strategy
Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their procurement needs.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement action plans.
Continually assess market trends and supplier capabilities.
Maintain accurate procurement records.
Manage risks associated with procurement and supply chain.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the department.

ProfileA successful Category Specialist should have:

Proven experience in procurement and supply chain within the industrial / manufacturing industry, with a proven track record of cost savings
Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail.
Strong knowledge of procurement systems and software.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Flexibility to travel for supplier visits (domestic & European)

Job Offer

Annual salary of up to £45,000 per annum
25 days of holiday, plus bank holidays
Hybrid working (2 days in the office per week)
Holiday Purchase Scheme, allowing the purchase of up to 5 additional days per year.
