Job Description

Job Title: Estates & Course ManagerLocation: OrmskirkSalary: £38,000 - £46,000 subject to experience.Job Type: Full Time - Permanent, 45 hours per week including weekends and bank holidays.Set in 200 acres of rolling countryside, Hurlston Hall is the hidden jewel on the Golf coast of Lancashire that you must discover. With facilities for all, Hurlston Hall provides a welcoming family atmosphere with corporate standards of excellence acrossour range of activities.The Role/Responsibilities:

  • Establish the overall brand standards and maintenance of the Hurlston Hall Estate.
  • Manage both greenkeeping and Estate teams to work effectively within their monthly budgets.
  • Prepare and deliver a detailed maintenance plan for the golf course and estate through our facilities management program.
  • Achieve and maintain 80% brand standards score within each department.
  • Establish and supervise network of approved contractors to work on site.
  • Effectively project manage new developments being established within the estate.
  • Work a minimum of two shifts per week on the golf course delivering regular course maintenance and development projects.
  • Work a minimum of one shift per week on the residential estates team carrying out development projects and regular maintenance.
  • Establish a fair and robust work schedule for the department achieving the company objectives and within the approved budgets.
  • Ensure all company assets, machines, equipment and stock are controlled, maintained and used as per company policies and procedures.
  • Establish full ownership for department HSE and good working practises across the estate.
  • Work effectively with the team to ensure the companies skills matrix is achieved and continued CPD is encouraged within the department.
  • Attend scheduled HOD meetings when required.
  • Maintain full ownership of all "Go Green" initiatives across the estate.
  • Recruit, train and develop the department inline with the company budgets and objectives.
  • Attend all scheduled shifts on time and as per the companys employee handbook.
  • Foster a positive working environment within the company.
Qualifications & Educational Requirements:
  • Fully qualified greenkeeper (BIGGA) minimum of 10 years experience.
  • Spraying Certificates PA1, PA2 and PA 6.
  • Maintain a valid drivers license.
Preferred Skills:
  • Minimum 5 years experience as Head Greenkeeper at large commercial golf venue or 3-year experience as Estates manager in similar role.
  • Strong understand of maintaining and working within a financial budget.
  • Good organisation and time management.
  • Good general knowledge and ability to use maintenance equipment and machines.
  • Strong understanding and experience of irrigation systems.
  • Potential relocation package for correct candidate.
  • This is a physically demanding role using heavy equipment, candidate must be in good physical condition to carry out this role.
  • Candidate would be expected to work longer hours during peak times especially during key projects to deliver the projects on time.
  • Some mechanical experience would be preferable.
  • As a HOD you will be reporting to the General Manager of the site.
  • You will directly manage the Head Greenkeeper and Estates Supervisor.
