Job Description

Financial Accountant / Northwich / £45-50k + benefits / Hybrid working environmentHollum Group are working with a large, well known PLC who are currently in need of a Financial Accountant, this is a permanent position based in Northwich with the benefit of hybrid working 2-3 days per week.If you are currently a Financial Accountant wondering whether your present employer actually makes a difference in the world then it may be time to consider a change and look to an organisation that does that every single day.My client is a global leader in the production of veterinary pharmaceuticals meaning you will be playing a part in an organisation that at its core strives to be at the forefront of animal health and welfare.Job Purpose

  • To support management through the provision of timely and accurate financial information as required.
  • Take ownership of the accounting for the UK head office and other UK entities.
  • Support the half year and full year reporting processes.
  • Bring enthusiasm, positivity and focus which will enhance the Group Finance team.
  • Provide support on projects and ad-hoc analyses as needed to drive the business growth.
  • Coach and guide both the Accounts Assistant and the Accounts Payable Clerk.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management & Preparation of Accounts
  • Preparation of timely and accurate monthly management reports.
  • Ensure the consistency of the management accounts with the Group Accounting Manual.
Month End/ General Accounting
  • Process day to day accounting entries for the UK Head office Company ("PLC") and other small UK entities.
  • Process payroll entries and ensure appropriate reconciliations with payroll are maintained.
  • Preparing the month end reconciliations and related tasks which underpin the PLC accounting for areas such as share options/accruals etc.
  • Perform month-end close and year end close procedures.
  • Process month-end close journal entries and meet deadlines.
  • Generate financial statements, account analysis and reporting.
  • Perform cash management and bank reconciliations.
Financial Statements and Statutory Obligations
  • Preparation of financial statutory accounts and information for annual tax packs.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Groups accounting records and financial systems.
  • Other ad-hoc analysis.
Budget and Forecasts
  • Prepare the budget/reforecast for the PLC Company and other small UK entities.
Internal Financial Controls
  • Ensure adequate financial controls are in place and executed for the processes surrounding the preparation of the monthly management accounts.
  • Ensure the control framework surrounding the accounting for the Group entities is executed in an effective manner.
Taxation
  • Preparation of VAT returns.
  • Preparation of P11D forms.
  • Support the Group Tax manager with information for the preparation of the CIT returns.
  • Ensure other relevant tax returns are prepared and submitted on time.
  • Be a point of contact and assist in maintaining a good relationship with HMRC.
General
  • Liaison with external auditors for half year and year end processes.
  • Provide support on a range of ad-hoc projects.
Key Performance Indicators
  • Adherence to month end reporting timetable for management reporting.
  • Adherence to reporting timeline for submission of local company reporting.
  • Accurate and timely provision of payroll information and reconciliation of outputs.
  • Ongoing evidence of performance improvements and efficiencies through increased throughput and improvements in ways of working.
  • Effective working relationships between the finance organisations and share best accounting practices within Dechra organisation.
