Job Description

A Panel Beater checks, rectifies or replaces damaged panels, strips/refits and realigns parts to motor vehicles. This includes the use of precise measuring, welding and body straightening equipment on vehicles to a good standard of workmanship.Duties/Responsibilities

  • Carry out structural inspections on vehicles
  • Carry out water leak inspections and repairs on vehicles
  • Carry out spot welding procedures
  • Report additional damage found not on initial estimate
  • Use of welding and body straightening equipment
  • Replace or rectify damaged panels
  • Mask up and primer repaired and new panels when required
  • Strip and refit parts to vehicles when required
  • Collect new parts and distribute to the right vehicles when required
  • Take & collect vehicles from other departments when required
  • Keep housekeeping to a high standard in the panel area
  • Ensure good standards of workmanship
  • Ensure all work is carried out within health & safety guidelines
  • Read and understand job instructions prior to starting job
  • Undertaking any other ad hoc tasks as requested by Management and senior staff
Health & Safety Responsibilities

  • Reporting any potential issues which could cause harm.
  • Behave in a manner which acts in line with the standards set out in the Health and Safety Manual and Company Handbook.
Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceEssential
  • NVQ level 3 in motor repairs or equivalent
  • Valid and full driving licence
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivation
  • Ability to work on own initiative
