Fantastic mechanical engineering opportunity working for a world renowned rolling stock manufacturer, at their Old Oak Common depot in London. All relevant mechanical engineering experience considered.Job Title: Mechanical Modifications Technicians Job Location: North West London Hourly Pay Rate: £20.59 PAYE / £26.23 Umbrella Shifts: Minimum of 55 hours a week Shift Pattern: Mon - Fri Days 06:30 - 18:30 or Nights 18:30 - 06:30 Duration: On-going contractStart Date: ASAPIndustries Considered: Rolling Stock, Aviation, Plant, Automotive, HGV, PCV, Marine and Armed Forces Electrical and Mechanical EngineersBORED IN YOUR CURRENT INDUSTRY ARE YOU AN MECHANICAL TECHICIAN LOOKING FOR A NEW AND EXCITING CHALLENGE IN THE ROLLING STOCK INDUSTRY IF SO PLEASE READ ON.Position Summary:Working at a live Rail Depot you will initially be engaged in the implementation of a suite of Mechanical modifications on Aventra Class 345 Fleet. In addition, the position holder will eventually be responsible for carrying out routine maintenance, Class 345Electric Multiple Unit. Take overall responsibility of vehicle examinations in line with vehicle maintenance instructions (VMIs). Undertake all types of maintenance examination work to ensure that we provide a safe, reliable, and defect free train. Take responsibilityfor the safe, efficient and professional workmanship of oneself and others under your control. Duties could include the following:* Mechanical Interiors/ Roof & Underframe inspections* Carrying out inspections and checks to ensure reliability of fleet* Carrying out mechanical modifications* Carrying out work recording via both paperwork and computer (SAP) Ideal CandidateA diligent professional able to work well as an individual or in a team. Relevant experience required: * History of completing safety critical work* Ability to undertake detailed fault finding and analysis by reading and following electrical and pneumatic schematic drawings* Comprehensive knowledge of Electrical & Mechanical Principles* Computer literate and experience of using a maintenance management system for work recordingQualifications:Minimum requirements NVQ Level 2 award in and Mechanical discipline or similar.PLEASE NOTE ALL APPLICANTS MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A DRUGS AND ALCOHOL TEST BEFORE BEING OFFERED A POSITION (this is standard procedure on Rail depots)Please note due to the volume of applications, we can only commit to contact those candidates we deem suitable for the position.
