Job Description

This role is offered on a full time, permanent basis in return for a competitive salary of £17,941.37 per annum.The Chichester College Group is the largest provider of further education in Sussex and is comprised of 5 Colleges based at Chichester, Crawley, Worthing, Brinsbury near Pulborough which is land-based, and Haywards Heath which is due to open in September 2020. Through our Colleges, we educate and train around 25,000 full and part-time students every year and provide teaching excellence to meet the future needs of the regions employers.In return for joining us as our Childcare Assistant, we will offer you:- Competitive Pension Scheme- Generous annual leave package- Discounted private medical care- Subsidised local gym membership- Other high street discounts plus moreKey Responsibilities of ourChildcare Assistant:- Ensure that the children are happy, settled and well cared for.- Be a key worker for named children and to plan for individual needs and to keep accurate records.- Work as part of a team to ensure that the children’s individual needs are met, and ensure that every child reaches their full potential.- Work as part of a team to ensure effective and appropriate communication with parents, carers, members of staff and external agencies.- Ensure health, hygiene and safety standards are maintained.- Assist with all activities in the nursery as requested by senior staff.- Respect and maintain the working environment and resources.- Adhere to all First Steps operational policies and procedures.Our Ideal Childcare Assistant should have the below skills and experience:- Level 2/3 in Early Years, Care and Education (or equivalent)- Experience of Working in a childcare setting or have undertaken a childcare placement- An understanding of current Early Years regulations (including Every Child Matters, Early Years Foundation Stage - and Ofsted National Standards)- Ability to relate to all children on their level- Ability to communicate to a diverse range of people at all levels, verbally and in writing- Time management skills, organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines- Ability to work alone and as part of a team with interpersonal skills- The ability to use initiative and work with minimum supervisionClosing date: Thursday7th January 2021Interview date: Monday 1st February 2021If you would like to learn more about our Childcare Assistant role then please click ‘apply’ today!All posts are subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check, which may include a check of the barred lists and any relevant overseas checks.As users of the disability confident scheme, we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the role.
