Are you a happy, supportive and fun loving Childcare Assistant who dreams of a job where no two days are the sameWe have multiple exciting opportunities to join us as a Childcare Assistantat First Steps Childcare in our Brinsbury nursery. These positions are offered on a part time, permanent basis - one working 32 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, and the other working 30 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (paid for 43 weeks). We also have a full time, fixed term maternity cover contract available. Salary is negotiable for these roles.Working with young babies through to children ready to start school, our Childcare Assistant will share your love for learning and make a real difference in children’s development and learning journeys. Together with our dedicated team, you will be a part of ensuring the children are learning, socialising, exploring and having fun.Key responsibilities of our Childcare Assistant:- Ensure that the children are happy, settled and well cared for.- Be a key worker for named children and to plan for individual needs and to keep accurate records.- Work as part of a team to ensure that the children’s individual needs are met, and ensure that every child reaches their full potential.- Work as part of a team to ensure effective and appropriate communication with parents, carers, members of staff and external agencies.- Ensure health, hygiene and safety standards are maintained.- Assist with all activities in the nursery as requested by senior staff.- Respect and maintain the working environment and resources.- Adhere to all First Steps operational policies and procedures.Our ideal Childcare Assistant should have the below skills and experience:- Level 2/3 in Early Years, Care and Education (or equivalent)- Working in a childcare setting or have undertaken a childcare placement- An understanding of current Early Years regulations (including Every Child Matters, Early Years Foundation Stage and Ofsted National Standards)- Ability to relate to all children on their level- Ability to communicate to a diverse range of people at all levels, verbally and in writingIf you would like to learn more about our Childcare Assistant role then please click ‘Apply’ today!Closing date: Thursday 26th March 2020Interview date: Tuesday 7th April 2020All posts are subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check, which may include a check of the barred lists, any relevant overseas checks and a self-declaration relating to the disqualification regulations.As users of the disability confident scheme, we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the role.We are an equal opportunities employer.
