Job Description

Facilities Co-ordinator, Hull. Salary is up to circa £25,032 per annum, plus other benefits including 30 days holiday, pension, staff discount across Heron Foods and B&M.This role is working within a fast-paced team covering shifts of either 8.00am4.00pm / 9.00am5.00pm working 5 days per week out of 6 (MondaySaturday) to be flexible in accordance with the requirements of the business. Due to the location of thebusiness and shift times, it is essential that you have your own transport.Heron Foods is a food retail business providing its customers with high-quality, low-priced products. We are now looking to appoint a new Facilities Co-ordinator to join our busy team.As the Facilities Co-ordinator you will be responsible for working with Facilities Helpdesk team to assist the Facilities Managers to provide an effective maintenance and repair service for the property estate.You will also be responsible for the following:

  • Assisting the Facilities Managers to deliver a broad range of property, mechanical, electrical & refrigeration planned and reactive maintenance / repairs.
  • Assisting the Facilities Manager in ensuring the accurate and timely completion of maintenance logs, schedules etc. to comply with Health & Safety legislation and in house policies and procedures.
  • Working with the Facilities Help Desk team to support the retail teams in across approximately 309 stores, as well as supporting the Store Support Centre function.
  • Day to day management of minor property, mechanical, electrical and refrigeration faults and issue according to job prioritisation, allocation, and co-ordination of sub-contractors.
  • Use the in house CAFM system to allocate jobs to contractors / in house maintenance team.
  • Updating the asset register within the CAFM system to maintain the relevant asset status.
  • Collate and check off invoices and job sheets against work instructions to ensure jobs are resolved within a satisfactory time scale and to agreed costs.
  • Liaise with Store and Area Managers as required to enable job completion and to inform on job status.
Essential Skills and/or Experience: -
  • Facilities maintenance background preferred but not essential.
  • Good oral communication skills. Ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels of seniority, liaise effectively with other internal departments and external contacts
  • Good interpersonal skills, able to empathise, maintain professionalism, display patience and politeness within an often-pressurised environment
  • A flexible and can do working style
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team, on own initiative and with minimal supervision
  • Previous experience working within an administrative or data entry role (essential)
