We are currently looking for a Tissue Culture Technician to join a growing biotechnology company based in the Yorkshire area. As the Tissue Culture Technician you will be involved in delivery of cell, tissue and assay services delivery.KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Your duties as the Tissue Culture Technician will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:1. As the Tissue Culture Technician, you will be responsible for general laboratory testing of client formulations on the companys product including histology testing, microbiology and using ELISAs. 2. You will culture stem cells, skin cells and tissue using aseptic techniques such as induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), epidermal cells, or epidermal tissue. 3. Aiding to maintain the operations of the laboratory e.g. cleaning, stock taking, and routine equipment maintenance, aliquoting and preparation of reagents and medium.4. You will also ensure that all Health and Safety regulations are adhered to including working within the relevant risk assessments and COSHH protocols.ROLE REQUIREMENTS:To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Tissue Culture Technician we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:1. Relevant degree in a Life Sciences related discipline such as stem cell, regenerative medicine, biology, biochemistry etc.2. Previous laboratory experience with tissue or histology and cell culture as well as molecular biology techniques such as PCR and ELISA.3. A working knowledge and practical experience with cell/tissue culture is essential. With stem cells or skin cells is highly advantageous.
