Job Description

Brilliant are currently looking for a Purchasing Manager on behalf of a leading provider of specialist equipment to growing infrastructure and associated end markets WHAT WERE LOOKING FORResponsibilities:

  • Responsible for all purchasing by the company
  • Negotiate best terms and conditions for supply contracts
  • Implement procurement strategy for best case outcomes
  • Sourcing, auditing and on-boarding new suppliers
  • Manage and mitigate risk across the supply base
  • Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
  • Work within budgetary and infrastructure constraints to maintain and improve operational efficiency
  • Work in conjunction with the technical functions (mechanics and FSEs) to evaluate and source new products
  • Work with both the Access and the Welfare functions to explore processes and equipment
  • Effective management and development of the current purchasing team
  • Support wider business objectives as required
  • Any other ad-hoc duties.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATEThe ideal candidate will be a dynamic individual with strong leadership and purchasing skills to lead this crucial role. The role holder will have overall responsibility for Group purchasing and strategic supply chain.
  • Previous experience in a purchasing role is essential
  • Relevant degree/CIPS qualified (or equivalent)
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to communicate at all levelsverbal and written
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Willingness to travel locally
  • Self-starter and highly driven
  • Ability to prepare a proposal
  • Presents themselves in an acceptable and tidy manner
  • Good IT literacy for production of presentation, sales analysis and management reports
