Job Description

A great opportunity has arisen for a Production Manager to join a leading manufacturer who are growing at a great rate. Key Responsibilities :

  • Run a team of 7 in Assembly operatives ensuring labour is available and assigned depending upon work priorities
  • Maintain test and build equipment, ensuring it remains serviceable and fully calibrated where applicable.
  • Ensure all departmental procedural documentation is kept up to date, initiating and implementing departmental KPIs
  • Provide training/mentors for Assembly personnel, ensuring their assembly knowledge remains up to date, along with all training records and matrices
  • Maintain product knowledge of all product builds to ensure that all operatives assemble product to the same standard and level of proficiency
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively on a technical level with other departments and all levels of management, particularly on the progress of large scale assembly projects, highlighting issues that may arise, implementing corrective actions and wherefeasible, implementing preventative measures
  • Ensure safe working practices are followed at all times, with continuous monitoring and improvements
  • Ensure continuous communication with other departments to solve any production issues
Key Objectives As an integral role within the business, your objectives are to oversee the production and technical management, through organisation and efficiency. Your objectives will include:
  • Scheduling works orders, and re-scheduling to accommodate urgent requirements
  • Assigning jobs to Assembly operatives and ensuring component parts are at hand
  • Ensure all assembly jobs are completed ready for despatch by their assigned despatch date
  • Maintain departmental KPIs
  • Providing cover for the QC Test and Warranty Returns departments in the absence of the QC Team Leader
Skills & qualifications Our ideal candidate will have proven experience within a similar role in the electrical industry:
  • Electrical qualification with Level 3 Diploma as minimum, or 18th Edition preferred
  • Experience within a production or assembly position
  • Experience of working with electrical wiring installations
  • Competence in software packages to include Microsoft Office and Epicor
  • Good customer interaction skills
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions and wiring diagrams
  • Experience with soldering would be advantageous
