Job Description

Were hiring a new Transport Manager to join the team in Normanton, West Yorkshire.Our Transport team is at the very center of our business with a growing fleet who provide an essential service to the NHS and our other Healthcare customers. This opportunity comes from business growth and is an excellent one for an experienced TransportManager to join and lead this growing team locally.The role of Transport Manager in our Normanton depot will have responsibility for the management of Driver & Vehicle compliance. It requires a CPC qualification and will also oversee the Transport Coordinator in delivering efficient waste collection services,taking the lead on integrations of new customer roll outs and driving results through collaboration with our internal teams.Your job as Transport Manager will involve:

  • Operational transport compliance
  • Scheduling, analysis, planning and out of hours responses
  • Incident investigation, assistance in the disciplinary process, accident and incident investigations, driver training and auditing
  • Performance management, absence management, KPI setting and 121s and recruitment
  • Supporting the National Transport Manager with vehicle and supplier procurement
  • Liaison with internal departments and external third parties
  • Submitting Transport updates and reports to Senior Management Team
  • Health and safety compliance
Skills and experience required:
  • CPC Qualification & ADR knowledge
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar Transport Management role with strong understanding of Transport compliance
  • Experience of vehicle routing and excellent geographical knowledge for the Yorkshire & Northern regions
  • Experience of building relations and working with Drivers on a daily basis
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise
  • People Management experience
  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft packages with intermediate Excel experience
  • Full UK Driving License
