Job Description

FACTORY MANAGERMy client currently has an exciting opportunity for a Factory Manager to join their Team.The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and forward-thinking Factory Manager with solid food manufacturing experience. Working across all areas of the factory, supporting the team to ensure they strive to the highest of standards at all times, providing inspirationalleadership and direction to ensure that people are kept safe, engaged, focused and always delivering to their potential. Key responsibilities will include: • Plan, develop and implement strategy for operational management and development so as to meet agreed organisational performance plans with agreed budgets and timescales• Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of operational management and development• Monitor, measure and report on operational issues, opportunities and development plans• Manage and develop direct reporting staff including succession planning for the future• Manage and control departmental expenditure within agreed budgets• Liaise with other functional/departmental managers so as to understand all necessary aspects and need of operational development and to ensure they are fully informed of operational objectives, purposes and achievements• Maintain awareness and knowledge of contemporary operational development theory and methods and provide suitable interpretation to directors, managers and staff within the organisation• Contribute to the evaluation and development of operational strategy and performance in conjunction with the executive team• Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care• Presenting key information at management meetings • To ensure that a safe working environment exists for the employees and that as a minimum all areas / lines meet the standards set out in the Site Safety Plan• The highest quality and food safety standards are embedded throughout the factory and standards of hygiene and good housekeeping appropriate to a quality food manufacturer are maintained (GMP)What are we looking for• Be working as a Production Manager/Operations Manager, or equivalent, within a large scale, fast-paced production environment - ideally across Food Manufacturing.• Have a proven track record in an operational management role in particular delivering results, with a strong emphasis on leading, motivating and developing.• Have experience in leading and coaching managers to drive forward results and step change operational performance would also be a great advantage, and would be in line with the expectations of our current managers• Have a good working knowledge of the tools and techniques of Continuous Improvement and how to integrate them into a business• Ability to develop a people centred culture based on the continuous pursuit of best practice in manufacturing • Ambition and true self-motivation, we provide significant autonomy and require high energy and considerable flexibility • Has clear focus on the needs of different stakeholders• Determination and resilience to cope with setbacks and to manage difficult circumstances proactively and professionally and make confident considered decisions • A keen eye for quality with a strong knowledge of operating quality processes and systemsWhats in it for youMy client are a rapidly growing and exciting business, dedicated to the development of colleagues and committed to creating a great environment for people to come and work.
