Job Description

Senior Dental NursePertemps are recruiting for an experienced Senior Dental Nurse to join our client’s team across various locations as part of a well-established dental practice.The successful candidate will work along side the practice manager in delivering full CQC compliance and implementation of procedures; be responsible for all aspects of clinical support within the practice and for the dentists within surgery enabling our customersto depend on us for their dental care; support the optimum utilisation of surgery time and will support the delivery of the best dental care possible; Offering professional dental care that is; friendly, compassionate and caring too; support other nurses andtake lead in all cross Infection procedures. Responsibilities include but not limed to:• Co-ordinate and organise appointments and administration to facilitate the efficient running of the dental practice.• To assist with Implants and patients who are having sedation.• Act as a mentor to support Nurses and Apprentice or Trainee Nurses, report any performance issues or lack of training to the principal/practice manager and ensure that all nurses/Apprentice and Trainee Nurses understand their professional responsibilitiesunder GDC guidelines.• Dealing with client complaints received by letter, telephone or in person, liaise with practice manager. • Demonstrating the ability to carry out basic computer troubleshooting maintenance and solve simple problems associated with the practice computer system.• Take ownership for own development, making sure records can be provided to support the GDC inspection of CPD every 5 years.• Adhere to all infection control procedures, always maintain equipment and materials, and adhere to all practice procedures.• Understand GDC guidelines and responsibilities as a registered DCP. Working within the standards set by the GDC Manage day to day aspects of surgery; daily / weekly checklist, stock control, waste removal, equipment maintenance and cleaning as per the manufacturer’sinstructions.• Work closely with the dentist in a professional manner, assisting all dental procedures, supporting the maintaining of paper and electronic records as per practice procedures• Ensure relevant risk assessments are known and complied with specifically in relation to the use of sharps.• Assist with implant, sedation treatment and Impression taking when required. • Attend to patients on the phone and in person.Ideal candidate:• Previous experience with working within a dental practice, previous supervisory experience is advantageous. • Will have previous experience in keeping documentation up to date, including policies, insurances, procedures, and handbooks.• Ability to work as part of the team, being flexible supporting any dentist and other areas as required including covering reception and nursing when necessary.• Extremely well organised, a strong communicator and can lead and develop a team • Ability to supervise staff, to encourage and develop. • GDC Registered (Essential)• Full NVQ level 3 in Dental Nursing (Essential) Salary: £10.50 - £14.00 per hour Dependant on Experience.
