Job Description

Are you an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer looking for a new challenge in the Building Services industry If so, Interaction Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for you to join our client’s dynamic team as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineerbased in Gateshead. This is a permanent role with a competitive salary ranging from £45,000 to £50,000 per year, depending on your level of experience.As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be involved in a diverse range of building services projects, including building thermal models, chilled water systems, and fresh air handling, among others. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring thesuccessful delivery of projects of varying scales.Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage a project team to ensure the timely production of deliverables within the allocated budget.
  • Develop specifications for Data Centre and Critical Environment projects.
  • Conduct critical reviews of design drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and specialists to manage quotations when necessary.
  • Conduct site surveys and audits to ensure the quality and accuracy of design implementations.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior members of the team.
About You: To be a successful candidate for this role, you will possess the following qualifications and experience:
  • Essential experience with Data Centre Installations.
  • Ideally, a degree qualification in Building Services Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in mechanical building services design across a range of small/medium to large-scale projects and building types.
  • Ability to understand and balance engineering priorities on various projects.
  • Proficient in the following areas:
  • Building Thermal Models
  • Chilled Water Pipe Loss & Pressure Calculations
  • Pumping Strategies
  • Building Load Assessments
  • Chilled Water Systems
  • Fresh Air Handling
